No I totally disagree with the essay and the author. I do not believe that the name of an article of clothing can determine the way a person acts. I do believe that the author was exaggerating.

Sex Lies and Conversation

I agree 100% with Tannen . Many times i have tried to talk to men and they just dont seem attentive because while i am talking they want to hold conversations with other people or watch the game and multi task while im trying to express the little things that seem to matter so much to me because i am a woman and little things matter.

Swollen Expectations

I do agree with the authors. I believe that people have truly become spoiled and that our expectations to have a "comfortable" life have gone up extremely high. I do also agree with the fact that many people suffer from affluenza.

I believe that the author was overstateing the case but i feel it was for all the right reasons. I do agree that greed has spread like a bad virus because I've even noticed in myself I tend to say that I need more when I should really be saying I want.

I believe that television has had more of a positive affect on my life oppose to a negative affect. I believe this to be true because i hardly watch TV and when I do watch it I only watch it for small amounts of time. T.V can be negative if it is watched excessively but if watched in increments it shouldn't be harmful.

Yes I do believe that words have an enormous effect on the way people act. I believe that names that certain races give another can only keep them down as long as they allow it to.Like the word nigger for example held African American people down until they decided one day to use it in a more positive way and not a simple 6 letter word hold them back.

The Storm

Although the story's title does refer to the storm that takes place through out much of the story it also refers to the passion between Claxita and Alcee.The passion that they share is strong and powerful and is bound to tear up a happy home just as the hurricane would.

Developing Paragraphs

After critically analyzing one of my body paragraphs with the understanding of what a good body paragraph is; I feel that my paragraphs meet the standard to which a good body paragraph should meet. I believe that all my paragraphs are clear and concise and connect to the main idea. My introduction gives my audience background to my life and to what my essay is about.

Arrangement

For my essay I choose to start off with background information on my topic for my introduction paragraph for this particular essay. I choose this method because I am writting directly to my teacher who has insight to what I'm going to write on being that she has already read my thesis statement. For my conclusion paragraph I have decided to repeat my thesis statement because when I write an essay I usually write my introduction and my conclusion first. I believe that my choices will appeal to my audience because it will bring some insight to why I went through the struggles I went through.

In a situation like the one in Thirty-Eight Who Saw Murder Didn't Call the Police I would have dedfinetely called the police. I would have called because I would want help and it's the only just thing to do. I don't think I would have gone outside because I wouldn't have been able to put my life in danger. Some factors that would have kept me from going outside would have been wether or not the atacker had a weapon or not and in this case he did.

Free-writting

The free-writing assignment was very useful. Before the writting asssignment I hadnt planed on being as detailed as Iplan on being now. Talking with my peer and free writting on my own has helped me expand my thoughts and now I know I have a better more clear and concise thesis statement.I've taken a step back and re-read my thesis and it is extremely generally, I belive that my thesis should be more specific and be able to be applied to my entire essay.
